welcome to
The Peddler
In the tradition of the peddlers of bygone days who travelled the countryside looking for good things to bring back for their customers, The Peddler seeks out and brings to the table the very best in food and drink, from land and sea, lake and mountain, looking out for what’s new as well as what’s in season and bringing together excellent ingredients as the foundation of our menus.
Local or visitor, for hot drinks to go, a business breakfast meeting, a morning coffee, a lunch break from shopping, a special dinner, a drink with friends in the evening… The Peddler provides a warm welcome to all in the heart of Whitehaven.
Based in the striking and vibrant surroundings of the town’s redeveloped Bus Station, The Peddler is helping to breathe new life into this historic North Shore site. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

humble
Beginnings
The Peddler is based in Whitehaven’s former bus station. This iconic building in the town’s North Shore area was sadly derelict for some years but has been redeveloped by BEC with funding from the NDA and Sellafield Ltd into an exciting and unique facility for the area.
The Bus Station provides a new home for digital and creative startups, with business pods, offices, communal working areas and maker spaces. While entrepreneurs are planning their business growth upstairs, The Peddler offers food and drink to the public on the ground floor.
Combining original art-deco features with modern styling, the redeveloped Bus Station has a cool, contemporary feel; a stunning venue and asset for the town.
